Application & Uses

Common Applications & Uses for Slip Rings for Integrators

Reliable and Consistent Performance

ROTOCON brushless slip rings are used in material handling equipment to transfer power, signal, and data to rotary equipment and manipulators such as pick and place robots and magnetic grippers and workholding tools.

The ROTOCON Advantage

Meridian Laboratory’s ROTOCON brushless slip rings can be trusted to provide reliable and consistent performance. With the ability to combine power and data transmission in a single assembly, they simplify system design and reduce complexity. With no need for maintenance, our slip rings are a hassle-free, long-lasting solution for rotary equipment and material handling applications.

High-Speed Communication in Real-Time

ROTOCON rotating electrical connectors are used in robotics and automated systems to supply electrical power, signal, and data from control panels to robotic devices. They are ideal for high-volume, repetitive processes, including pick-and-pack machines, sorting, positioning, and many other automated tasks.

The ROTOCON Advantage

Our ROTOCON rotating electrical connectors perform reliably in indexing, oscillating, and continuously rotating applications. They enable high-speed, real-time communication without bit errors, packet loss, or cross-talk. Their completely maintenance-free design guarantees a long-running and dependable operation.

Electrical and Pneumatic Combined for Maximum Capability

ROTOCON brushless slip rings are used to deliver power and signal to automated palletizing and packaging machines that require a mix of indexing and continuous rotation for repeatable performance, oftentimes with a need for pneumatics.

The ROTOCON Advantage

ROTOCON slip rings can be seamlessly integrated with rotary media unions for electrical and pneumatic rotation. They offer consistent performance whether in indexing or fully rotating applications, and require no maintenance or adjustment throughout their operation.

Flawless Signal Quality with Zero Bit Errors

ROTOCON brushless slip rings and rotary unions are regularly used in automated assembly machinery and mechanical turntables and turrets to supply electrical power and media to powered platforms.

The ROTOCON Advantage

Our ROTOCON brushless slip rings offer the convenience of power, signal, and data in a single assembly, guaranteeing flawless signal quality with zero bit errors. Built to regularly surpass over 500 million revolutions without the need for upkeep, our slip rings are a reliable, high-performance solution for demanding automated assembly applications.

Steady Current with Zero Fluctuation

Meridian Laboratory’s ROTOCON rotary grounds are used to ground a workpiece during welding, whether it is rotating or stationary.

The ROTOCON Advantage

ROTOCON rotary grounds deliver steady, consistent current without any fluctuation. This yields higher-quality welds, reduced QA issues, and less scrapped product, all while offering a maintenance-free design that lasts for hundreds of millions of revolutions.
