ROTOCON® SLIP RING PRODUCTS
Overview
Meridian Laboratory’s ROTOCON slip rings and rotary grounds are critical components for challenging rotary applications that Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) utilize across numerous different industries, from food and aerosol can machinery to electroplating, web converting machinery, and more. ROTOCON rotary electrical connectors are renowned for their ability to provide consistent power, data transfer, and electrical grounding, all of which contribute to steady and dependable performance in harsh manufacturing environments. OEMs depend on ROTOCON brushless slip rings for their durability, as they require no maintenance, adjustment, or greasing. ROTOCONs’ brushless, sealed design offers protection against dust and other environmental factors for a clean and efficient operation. Meridian Laboratory remains committed to providing our customers with the best service and competitively-priced solutions.

ROTOCON rotary electrical connectors are used in metal can and aerosol manufacturing machinery to deliver power and data between the rotating carousel and the control panel.
Food and aerosol machinery manufacturers choose Meridian Laboratory’s ROTOCON brushless slip rings for their consistent performance and longevity. Our rotating electrical connectors provide real-time information to the control panel at high data rates, without any interruption or loss. They regularly exceed hundreds of millions of revolutions, requiring no maintenance, attention, or downtime.

ROTOCON rotary grounds deliver a stable, high-amperage current to electroplating baths to ensure a uniform deposition of plating material on your end product.
Meridian Laboratory’s ROTOCON brushless rotary grounds are the preferred choice for plating line manufacturers due to their sealed design and ability to withstand challenging conditions. They provide a steady current flow without fluctuation, delivering consistent and repeatable process control and high-quality results.

ROTOCON brushless slip rings, rotary unions, and rotary grounds are used in CNC machine tools, additive manufacturing processes, and machining centers to transmit power, electrical signals, and media. They support coolant delivery through spindles, hydraulic chuck actuation, high-frequency ultrasonic machining, and power supply to rotating tables and swivel spindles.
Machine tool manufacturers trust Meridian Laboratory’s ROTOCON products for their sealed design and durable material construction, which ensure they are unaffected by the conditions of challenging machining environments. Our electrical slip rings and rotary union combinations integrate power, signal and media within the same assembly, delivering dependable and consistent results.

ROTOCON brushless slip rings are utilized in web converting machinery to perform coating, laminating, and film sealing. They deliver power and signal between the rotating heaters and sensors, to the stationary control panel.
For web converting machinery manufacturers, ROTOCON brushless slip rings offer several advantages. They are completely maintenance-free and require no upkeep, delivering flawless performance and maximum output for hundreds of millions of total revolutions. With power and signal delivered within a single assembly, our slip rings provide dependable and consistent power, electrical signal, and data with near zero electrical resistance or noise.

ROTOCON brushless slip rings are utilized in eddy current instrumentation and other high-frequency non-destructive testing (NDT) equipment to transmit power and signal.
Manufacturers of non-destructive testing equipment (NDT) depend on Meridian Laboratory’s ROTOCON slip rings for their industry-leading signal quality, stationary or rotating. They deliver flawless and accurate signal quality with no noise interference to guarantee the most accurate readings and measurements, regardless of orientation or total revolutions.

ROTOCON rotary grounds are commonly used in industrial welding positioners to provide an electrical ground between the positioner and the rotating workpiece.
Welding positioner manufacturers benefit from using ROTOCON rotary grounds as they provide consistent and reliable current delivery to the rotating workpiece. With no metal-on-metal contact, our rotary grounds do not require any type of maintenance, adjustment, or greasing, which are typically associated with conventional rotary grounds offered by Tweco, Lenco, and other manufacturers.

Meridian Laboratory starts every project by working to understand the goals and objectives of a customer’s application. Our experienced engineering team works with companies large and small across the world in a wide variety of industries. Our electrical, mechanical, and application support engineers have a diverse set of experiences to aid in solving the most challenging problems related to rotational motion. Most custom ROTOCON rotating electrical connectors can be designed from our expansive library of standard models, easily modified to meet your requirements without non-recurring engineering (NRE) costs involved. Additionally, we have the expertise to provide fully custom rotary solutions for complex applications.

Meridian Laboratory produces the machined components utilized within our ROTOCON slip rings, in-house from prototype to production, regardless of complexity or tolerance. Our highly experienced machining team utilizes the latest machine tools and measurement equipment to ensure the highest quality of components go into our final product. We have expertise working with a wide variety of materials including stainless steel, carbon steel, titanium, copper, brass, bronze, aluminum, plastics, and more.

All ROTOCON slip rings and rotary solutions are assembled in the United States by Meridian Laboratory’s team of trained technicians from project start to completion. Our facilities and workflows allow for both prototype and high-volume production.
The components utilized within ROTOCON slip rings are strictly inspected and measured at numerous points during assembly to ensure quality conformance. All ROTOCON slip rings undergo final rotational and electrical bench testing prior to shipment. The results of this test are included with each ROTOCON slip ring as a Certificate of Conformance.

Meridian Laboratory owns and utilizes a wide variety of standard and custom test and verification tools to benchmark, test, and certify its high performance ROTOCON rotary electrical slip rings. We can also provide developmental qualification testing to ensure potential rotary electrical solutions meet the application requirements of our customers prior to design finalization and manufacturing.

Meridian Laboratory is dynamic in offering additional services and support to meet the specific needs of our customers. From initial inquiry to ongoing volume production and beyond, we work to ensure unbeatable quality and service is provided for every project and customer.
