ROTOCON® SLIP RING PRODUCTS
Overview
Meridian Laboratory’s ROTOCON brushless slip rings and rotary grounds are integral to numerous manufacturing and production processes, including tank fabrication, battery storage, and packaging operations. Engineered for process consistency, they ensure stable power and data transmission without interruptions or electrical noise. Unlike conventional brushed slip rings, ROTOCON slip rings operate for hundreds of millions revolutions without the need for maintenance, replacements, or adjustments. By eliminating physical contact between rotating components, ROTOCON brushless slip rings avoid the wear, debris generation, and performance degradation common to traditional slip rings. ROTOCONs deliver dependable, 24/7 performance, eliminate downtime, and maximize efficiency – all of which are key factors for optimizing production and reducing costs.

Our ROTOCON ERG-Series rotary grounds are used as an electrical ground in the manufacturing of large storage tanks and vessels, such as propane tanks, water heaters, and air compressors tanks, during both rotation and stationary welding processes.
Meridian Laboratory’s ROTOCON brushless rotary grounds provide stable current and performance, regardless of the total number of revolutions, orientation or position, whether stationary or during rotation. With zero added electrical resistance, they contribute to higher efficiency and limit power loss, delivering a higher quality and more consistent weld, to ensure a repeatable process and better end product.

ROTOCON custom brushless slip rings are used in battery and energy storage device production, during slurry mixing processes in corrosive environments, as well as for high speed, end-of-line resistance testing.
ROTOCON multi-channel slip rings are environmentally sealed and offer a completely maintenance-free operation. They are designed to operate continuously, providing a dependable rotating electrical contact 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Meridian Laboratory’s ROTOCON rotary electrical connectors are utilized in metal can manufacturing and filling machinery to deliver power and data to and from the rotating carousel.
ROTOCON rotary electrical connectors provide real-time information to the control panel at high speeds and data rates, with no interruptions or delay. They are built to last, regularly performing for hundreds of millions of total revolutions while requiring no form of maintenance and guaranteeing zero downtime.

Our ROTOCON ERG-Series brushless rotary grounds are used to deliver high-amperage current for material plating processes to ensure a consistent and even deposition of plating materials.
Our ROTOCON ERG-Series rotary grounds are sealed and resistant to corrosive materials often used in plating processes. They provide a steady, uninterrupted current flow that maintains consistent performance for the life of the ROTOCON. The maintenance-free design of our rotary grounds offers reliability in the long-term, eliminating downtime or the need for adjustment or replacement.

ROTOCON ERG-Series brushless rotary grounds are essential in the electroforming process during the production of DVDs, CDs, Blu-rays, vinyl records, and other physical media.
ROTOCON ERG-Series brushless rotary grounds are available in high-amperage models up to 10,000 amps. They are maintenance-free, introducing near zero electrical resistance and provide steady current flow. With industrial-grade construction, our rotary grounds are highly durable and built to perform in harsh environments.

Our ROTOCON brushless slip rings and rotary unions are used in label and packaging machines to deliver power, signal / data, and pneumatic/media transfer from the stationary control panel to the rotating shaft, turntable, or turret.
ROTOCON brushless slip rings offer the advantage of real-time high-speed data transmission, without any bit errors or packet loss. They can be integrated with rotary unions for seamless air and fluid transfer.

Meridian Laboratory starts every project by working to understand the goals and objectives of a customer’s application. Our experienced engineering team works with companies large and small across the world in a wide variety of industries. Our electrical, mechanical, and application support engineers have a diverse set of experiences to aid in solving the most challenging problems related to rotational motion. Most custom ROTOCON rotating electrical connectors can be designed from our expansive library of standard models, easily modified to meet your requirements without non-recurring engineering (NRE) costs involved. Additionally, we have the expertise to provide fully custom rotary solutions for complex applications.

Meridian Laboratory produces the machined components utilized within our ROTOCON slip rings, in-house from prototype to production, regardless of complexity or tolerance. Our highly experienced machining team utilizes the latest machine tools and measurement equipment to ensure the highest quality of components go into our final product. We have expertise working with a wide variety of materials including stainless steel, carbon steel, titanium, copper, brass, bronze, aluminum, plastics, and more.

All ROTOCON slip rings and rotary solutions are assembled in the United States by Meridian Laboratory’s team of trained technicians from project start to completion. Our facilities and workflows allow for both prototype and high-volume production.
The components utilized within ROTOCON slip rings are strictly inspected and measured at numerous points during assembly to ensure quality conformance. All ROTOCON slip rings undergo final rotational and electrical bench testing prior to shipment. The results of this test are included with each ROTOCON slip ring as a Certificate of Conformance.

Meridian Laboratory owns and utilizes a wide variety of standard and custom test and verification tools to benchmark, test, and certify its high performance ROTOCON rotary electrical slip rings. We can also provide developmental qualification testing to ensure potential rotary electrical solutions meet the application requirements of our customers prior to design finalization and manufacturing.

Meridian Laboratory is dynamic in offering additional services and support to meet the specific needs of our customers. From initial inquiry to ongoing volume production and beyond, we work to ensure unbeatable quality and service is provided for every project and customer.
