Application & Uses

Common Applications & Uses for Research & Testing

Excellent Signal Quality and Customized Solutions

ROTOCON brushless slip rings are commonly used by some of the world’s leading public and private institutions to collect critical data in applications such as centrifugal testing, torque/strain gauge testing, high-frequency vibrational testing, and many other research and development applications.

The ROTOCON Advantage

ROTOCON brushless slip rings guarantee a clean, dependable signal regardless of orientation, signal type or RPM ensuring clear transmission of the most sensitive electrical sensors and devices. With a wide range of customization available for our standard models or custom slip rings, Meridian Laboratory offers tailor-made solutions for your unique requirements.

High-Speed Capable and Rated for Continuous Use

ROTOCON high-speed brushless slip rings are commonly used in automotive testing applications to transmit torque, temperature, and other critical data from rotating sensors to data acquisition equipment.

The ROTOCON Advantage

ROTOCON brushless slip rings are capable of operating at speeds up to 40k RPM, ensuring flawless signal quality and delivering dependable results from sensors, tools, and thermocouples. They are designed for continuous, high-duty cycle use for rigorous testing environments.

Near-Zero Electrical Noise and No Metal-On-Metal Contact

ROTOCON brushless slip rings are used in acoustics test chambers for sensitive low-noise electrical measurements, transmitting signal from instrumentation to the stationary data acquisition systems.

The ROTOCON Advantage

Meridian Laboratory’s ROTOCON slip rings provide near-zero electrical noise for clean and accurate signal transmission. Unlike standard brushed slip rings, which rely on metal contacts that can create both physical (audible) and electrical noise, ROTOCON brushless slip rings have no metal-on-metal contacts. They are completely maintenance-free, requiring no adjustments, dust clean-out, or part replacements throughout their operation.

Durable Construction and Unaffected by Environmental Conditions

ROTOCON brushless slip rings are used in centrifuge testing, helicopter blade testing, and other defense testing applications to transmit both power and signal between rotating equipment and stationary monitoring systems.

The ROTOCON Advantage

ROTOCON slip rings deliver unbeatable signal quality and overall electrical performance to centrifuges and other rotational testing applications. ROTOCON slip rings are unaffected by changes in temperature, humidity, and other environmental factors, contributing to a reliable, long-running operation in extreme or sensitive conditions. A wide variety of customization options are offered to best fit the exact needs of your defense testing application.

Clean, Consistent Readings and Long-Lasting Performance

ROTOCON rotating electrical connectors are used in motor test stands to transmit signals between stationary data acquisition devices and rotating sensors. They are commonly used to measure rotational speed, torque, temperature, and vibration.

The ROTOCON Advantage

Our ROTOCON brushless slip rings are available in high-speed models that can reach up to 40K RPM. They provide flawless signal quality and clean, consistent readings from sensors and instruments, even at high speeds. ROTOCON slip rings are designed for continuous use, operating for hundreds of millions of total revolutions.

Low Rotational Torque and Precise Data Transfer

ROTOCON brushless slip rings are used in live specimen monitoring and research applications to connect sensors to animals such as rats, allowing for the transmission of signals while the subject moves freely.

The ROTOCON Advantage

Meridian Laboratory’s ROTOCON slip rings deliver excellent signal quality for precise and consistent data transfer even in highly sensitive research applications. Their low rotational torque ensures smooth, unrestricted movement for live specimens, providing flexibility and reliability during experiments while maintaining high data integrity.
