ROTOCON® SLIP RING PRODUCTS
Overview
Meridian Laboratory’s ROTOCON brushless slip rings and rotary grounds are engineered to deliver lasting performance and maximize ROI. From wireline cable reels and pipeline inspection to storage tank fabrication and welding, ROTOCON technology provides elevated process consistency, without the need for maintenance.ses for Slip Rings in Medic

ROTOCON wireline slip rings are installed on wireline cable reels, delivering power and signal from the operations center in the wireline truck to downhole tools. They are utilized in a wide range of processes, including plasma pulse generator tools, jet cutters, bond logging, caliper logging, ultrasonic logging, temperature tooling, and many more.
ROTOCON wireline slip rings are rated for high-voltage applications, with near-zero electrical resistance to ensure a clear, consistent, and dependable signal from your downhole tools to the truck. Built to be long-lasting, our wireline slip rings are purpose built to withstand harsh, wet, and dusty environments, with no brush replacement or maintenance ever required.

ROTOCON rotary grounds are used on welding cable reels to provide a grounding circuit to the ground clamp.
ROTOCON rotary grounds are environmentally sealed, maintenance-free, and deliver stable, uninterrupted current flow, regardless of cable reel position. This consistent current is crucial for welding, as fluctuation can cause welds with too shallow penetration or blow throughs, leading to costly rework and material replacement.

ROTOCON slip rings and fiber optic rotary joints are used in borehole measurement to deliver power to tools below the surface and transmit critical data from measurement and processing equipment to the operations truck above.
ROTOCON brushless slip rings and fiber optic rotary joint assemblies are sealed, maintenance-free, and provide unbeatable longevity and performance for borehole measurement applications. Additionally, fiber optic rotary joints provide high speed data up to 100Gbps without loss or signal deterioration for long depth runs.

ROTOCON multi-channel slip rings are utilized within pipeline inspection cable reels and robots to provide camera signals, side scanning, laser profiling and other diagnostic signals to ensure accurate real-time information to the stationary monitoring platform.
The brushless design utilized in our ROTOCON rotating electrical connectors guarantees industry leading signal quality, especially when compared to electrically noisy brushed slip rings. Additionally, ROTOCONs are environmentally sealed to protect against dust, water, and other environmental factors to ensure a long-lasting, quality solution.

ROTOCON rotary grounds are used to establish a stable ground circuit for pipes being welded together during manufacturing with either a ground clamp or when used in a rotary positioner.
Our ROTOCON rotary grounds are sealed, maintenance-free, and provide steady and consistent current flow without fluctuation. They outperform traditional, metal-on-metal contacts, without requiring any grease or adjustment during use.

Meridian Laboratory starts every project by working to understand the goals and objectives of a customer’s application. Our experienced engineering team works with companies large and small across the world in a wide variety of industries. Our electrical, mechanical, and application support engineers have a diverse set of experiences to aid in solving the most challenging problems related to rotational motion. Most custom ROTOCON rotating electrical connectors can be designed from our expansive library of standard models, easily modified to meet your requirements without non-recurring engineering (NRE) costs involved. Additionally, we have the expertise to provide fully custom rotary solutions for complex applications.

Meridian Laboratory produces the machined components utilized within our ROTOCON slip rings, in-house from prototype to production, regardless of complexity or tolerance. Our highly experienced machining team utilizes the latest machine tools and measurement equipment to ensure the highest quality of components go into our final product. We have expertise working with a wide variety of materials including stainless steel, carbon steel, titanium, copper, brass, bronze, aluminum, plastics, and more.

All ROTOCON slip rings and rotary solutions are assembled in the United States by Meridian Laboratory’s team of trained technicians from project start to completion. Our facilities and workflows allow for both prototype and high-volume production.
The components utilized within ROTOCON slip rings are strictly inspected and measured at numerous points during assembly to ensure quality conformance. All ROTOCON slip rings undergo final rotational and electrical bench testing prior to shipment. The results of this test are included with each ROTOCON slip ring as a Certificate of Conformance.

Meridian Laboratory owns and utilizes a wide variety of standard and custom test and verification tools to benchmark, test, and certify its high performance ROTOCON rotary electrical slip rings. We can also provide developmental qualification testing to ensure potential rotary electrical solutions meet the application requirements of our customers prior to design finalization and manufacturing.

Meridian Laboratory is dynamic in offering additional services and support to meet the specific needs of our customers. From initial inquiry to ongoing volume production and beyond, we work to ensure unbeatable quality and service is provided for every project and customer.
