ML6 Polyurethane for OEM Applications

Meridian Laboratory’s ML6 polyurethane molded parts are trusted for numerous OEM applications, including wire processing, glass handling, gummy demolding, automated lighting, cannabis packaging, and data cable production equipment. They're molded directly to size, avoiding grinding that can lead to particle shedding or tolerance issues. The strong bond between ML6 polyurethane and the metal core holds up through continuous use without risk of delamination. ML6’s high-friction surface grips consistently across materials like Teflon-jacketed wire, thin paper, or slick glass. FDA-compliant options are available for food and pharma, and anti-static formulas reduce buildup in cable and electronics processing.

Application & Uses

Common Applications & Uses for Molded Polyurethane Products in Original Equipment Manufacturers

High Friction & Anti-Static

ML6 polyurethane drive rollers are used by many of the world’s leading manufacturers of wire processing equipment for feeding, stripping, and assembly of difficult-to-process wires such as Teflon.

The ML6 Advantage

ML6 polyurethane provides the high friction needed to feed wire with various jackets like PVC, Nylon, and Teflon. Molded to exact profiles with low TIR, even the smallest wires are fed reliably. Additionally, we offer an anti-static additive that can reduce static buildup and prevent cut jacket pieces from clinging to the surface.

Non-Marking & Low to No TIR

ML6 polyurethane covered drive rollers and coated bearings are used by glass equipment manufacturers to convey and handle glass sheets as well as finished glass products such as doors and windows.

The ML6 Advantage

ML6 polyurethane is non-marking to prevent witness marks, with a high-friction molded surface that allows product to move consistently and reliably. Low TIR warrants repeatable accuracy during processing.

FDA Compliant & Molded Without Grinding

ML6 FDA-compliant polyurethane overmolded rollers and shafts are used to extract edible gummies from the molds they are made within.

The ML6 Advantage

ML6 polyurethane is offered in FDA compliant versions for both wet and dry contact, with custom formulations available. Complex profiles are molded directly to size without grinding, preserving shape and preventing surface chipping that can contaminate finished products.

Low Noise & Bonded for Durability

ML6 coated bearings and cam followers are extensively used by the manufacturers of automated stage lighting mounted on track systems.

The ML6 Advantage

ML6 polyurethane eliminates metal-on-metal contact, preventing operational noise. It’s cast and bonded in a single step to the bearing or housing for exemplary strength and resistance to delamination.

Easily Cleaned & Zero Contamination

ML6 polyurethane drive rollers and shafts are used in cannabis processing equipment for both the rolling and packaging processes involved.

The ML6 Advantage

ML6 polyurethane provides the friction needed to feed thin paper substrates. The smooth molded surface is easily cleaned, and no grinding during manufacturing means no flaking or contamination during operation.

Longevity with Zero Marking

ML6 Polyurethane tubes/sleeves are used as replaceable capstan covers used to tension and feed cable in the production of electrical connectors.

The ML6 Advantage

ML6 polyurethane tubing delivers strong friction and long-lasting durability. Molded without grinding, ML6 offers better longevity, is non-marking to protect cables, and can be easily replaced as needed.
