Custom molded polyurethane components are manufactured to meet the specific performance, dimensional, and environmental needs of your application. Whether you’re replacing a worn OEM part or developing something entirely new, Meridian Laboratory delivers high-precision, molded ML6 polyurethane parts that outperform conventional plastic, rubber, or metal alternatives.
From one-off prototypes to large-scale production, our team works closely with engineers and buyers to specify the ideal durometer, geometry, and insert type. We support overmolding onto metals, plastics, or non-metallic substrates and offer custom product types including bumpers, isolators, rollers, pads, bushings, and more.
Custom parts are molded to final dimensions, eliminating the need for post-machining in most cases. Thanks to our expansive in-house mold library and tooling capabilities, we provide fast lead times, repeatable quality, and competitive pricing without the high cost typically associated with custom molding.
All parts are manufactured using Meridian Laboratory’s proprietary ML6 polyurethane, known for its exceptional abrasion resistance, tear strength, flexibility, and chemical resistance. This ensures a long service life and dependable performance, even in high-cycle or harsh industrial environments.
Meridian Laboratory’s precision molding process delivers tight tolerances, strong bonding, and consistent results making it the ideal choice for custom molded polyurethane components across industries including automation, aerospace, converting, defense, and beyond.

FAQs
Common Custom Molded Polyurethane Questions
What makes ML6® polyurethane different from other polyurethanes and materials?
ML6® is unique in that it can hold very tight tolerances without grinding or post-cure finishing. This leaves a perfect surface finish that has a better coefficient of friction, and is impervious to contamination since the cell structure is not opened through grinding or machining. This results in a better performing and longer lasting part. More information regarding the advantages of ML6 can be found here.
Is custom molded polyurethane expensive?
Not at all. Thanks to our in-house tooling, efficient mold-making process, and low minimum order quantities, we make custom-molded ML6® polyurethane both cost-effective and with fast turnaround times. Whether you need a single prototype or a full production run, we eliminate unnecessary overhead and long lead times typically associated with custom molding. Plus, with precision as-cast tolerances and no need for secondary grinding and processing, your parts are ready to perform right out of the mold, saving you even more time and cost in the long run. Can I send you an existing part to replicate?
Yes, we can reverse-engineer existing parts by scanning, measuring, and inspecting samples. We’ll match or enhance the original design to deliver a high-performance polyurethane replacement part tailored to your application. Contact us to learn more!
What is the largest length or diameter of part you can produce?
We can mold ML6® polyurethane onto parts up to 18 inches in diameter and approximately 28” in length. Contact us with your specific dimensions and we’ll confirm feasibility based on tooling and equipment.
How long does it take to develop a custom ML6® polyurethane part?
Lead times for custom ML6® parts are typically 2-6 weeks, depending on the complexity of the part and what existing tooling we have that may closely match your part requirements. Thanks to in-house mold-making and complete production control, we offer fast turnaround for both prototypes and production quantities, and also have the ability to make changes based on prototype findings. The advantage of choosing Meridian Laboratory is that we can provide low volume tooling to accommodate prototype and low volume needs, and scale accordingly to meet your higher volume production level requirements.
