OVERVIEW
Molded Polyurethane Sheets & Flatstock
- Precision-molded ML6 polyurethane provides tighter tolerances and smoother finishes than alternative materials.
- Ideal for high-wear applications such as die cutting, gasketing, and machine pads requiring consistent thickness and durability.
- Fast, affordable customization using Meridian Laboratory’s in-house mold library, often without added tooling costs. Standard sizes up to 12”x12”, custom available up to 24”x24”.
- Superior mechanical properties, including excellent abrasion resistance, tear strength, and chemical resistance.
Polyurethane molded sheets and flatstock are engineered for demanding applications where strength, wear resistance, and dimensional consistency are essential. Unlike many other materials, ML6 molded sheets deliver tighter tolerances, cleaner surface finishes, and improved mechanical performance especially in lower volumes or when a precise thickness is critical.
ML6 polyurethane flatstock is molded using Meridian Laboratory’s proprietary ML6 compound, renowned for its excellent abrasion resistance, tear strength, and flexibility. This makes it ideal for die cutting, gasketing, machine pads, and custom fabrications in high-wear or repetitive-use environments.
Thanks to our expansive in-house mold library, Meridian Laboratory can provide ML6 molded sheets and flatstock in a wide range of thicknesses and sizes quickly and cost-effectively often without added tooling or setup charges. Whether you need a standard rectangular sheet, custom profile, or tailored durometer, we deliver precision-molded polyurethane solutions with short lead times and competitive pricing.

FAQs
Common Polyurethane Molded Sheets Questions
What is the largest size and thickness of polyurethane sheet you can produce?
We typically cast flat polyurethane sheet stock up to 18″ x 18″ in various thicknesses up to 1”. For specific sizes, contact us with your needs to get started.
How strong is the bond between the core material and polyurethane?
ML6® polyurethane is chemically bonded to core materials using a proprietary process that provides a bond stronger than the polyurethane itself. Unlike some competitors who use press-fit or glued-on coatings, our processing method ensures maximum durability and prevents delamination, even under high loads or extreme dynamic conditions. What are the tolerances you can hold on molded polyurethane parts?
Meridian Laboratory’s ML6® polyurethane allows for extremely tight as-cast tolerances, eliminating the need for post-cure processing. We regularly hold diameters within ±0.001″ and TIR values of 0.001″ per foot. This high level of dimensional accuracy makes ML6® ideal for precision-driven applications. Learn more about all of Meridian Laboratory’s advantages!
What makes ML6® polyurethane different from other polyurethanes and materials?
ML6® is unique in that it can hold very tight tolerances without grinding or post-cure finishing. This leaves a perfect surface finish that has a better coefficient of friction, and is impervious to contamination since the cell structure is not opened through grinding or machining. This results in a better performing and longer lasting part. More information regarding the advantages of ML6 can be found here.
Can ML6® bond to various materials like metals and plastics?
Yes, ML6® bonds exceptionally well to metals and plastics when properly prepared. We use proprietary bonding processes and surface treatments to ensure a durable, long-lasting bond to materials such as steel, aluminum, stainless steel, bronze, brass, and engineering plastics. Contact us to learn more.
Can you manufacture custom-molded polyurethane parts to spec?
Yes, we specialize in custom-molded polyurethane parts, from single prototypes to full production runs. Our flexible process allows us to deliver parts quickly and cost-effectively, even in single piece quantities. Once we have manufactured any part once, it can be made any number of times, in any quantity, with cost-effective and repeatable results.
