Are machine keys provided?

Machine keys are not provided with any standard or custom keyed drive roller solution. Contact us if this is something you are looking to have included for a complete turn-key, install-ready component.

Are ML6® parts compliant with FDA, NSF, and RoHS standards? Do you offer food-safe polyurethane options?

Yes, ML6® polyurethane is available in FDA, NSF, and RoHS-compliant formulations which are suitable for food, beverage, and medical applications. REACH compliance and certifications can also be provided upon request. See our Material Safety Data Sheet page for further information.

Are set screws provided?

Set screws are provided on all standard parts that require them and can be included as an additional value-add service for custom drive rollers. Contact us to learn more.

Are your products available through distributors?

Meridian Laboratory primarily sells directly to end users to ensure the highest level of support and customization for each customer. However, we do work with select partners to provide standard parts worldwide. Contact us or see our ‘Where to Buy’ page for more information.

Can I buy the raw ML6 materials to mold it myself?

No, ML6® is a proprietary polyurethane formulation and is only available through finished parts manufactured by Meridian Laboratory. We control the entire process to ensure that maximum quality and performance are delivered. Learn more about ML6 Polyurethane Parts.

Can I reorder an old job without needing new tooling?

Yes, we securely store molds and production data for all orders, enabling fast, repeatable production with no additional tooling costs, ensuring consistency and reducing lead time for reorders. Contact us to learn more.

Can I send in my own molds for use in production?

Yes, we can use customer-supplied molds as long as they meet our production, compatibility, and material requirements. Our engineering team will carefully review your mold design to ensure it aligns with the strict and rigorous standards necessary for producing high-performance ML6® polyurethane parts. While we are happy to accommodate existing tooling when feasible, our preferred approach is to manufacture tooling in-house to guarantee optimal fit, finish, and consistency. If any modifications or concerns arise, we’ll communicate them clearly and work with you to determine the best path forward. Contact us to learn more.

Can I send in worn or existing parts to be recoated with ML6® polyurethane?

Yes! Recoating old rollers and parts is a very cost-effective method for salvaging old parts. Once we receive the parts, we will prepare the surfaces that are to be coated, as no surface preparation needs to be done by the customer. We will then process your worn parts, prepare, and mold them to the desired final specifications and they will have the same quality and precision as new ML6 molded polyurethane products.

Can I send you an existing part to replicate?

Yes, we can reverse-engineer existing parts by scanning, measuring, and inspecting samples. We’ll match or enhance the original design to deliver a high-performance polyurethane replacement part tailored to your application. Contact us to learn more!

Can Meridian Laboratory offer engineering and design assistance?

Yes, we offer comprehensive engineering support for design, material selection, and application optimization. Can ML6® bond to various materials like metals and plastics?

Yes, ML6® bonds exceptionally well to metals and plastics when properly prepared. We use proprietary bonding processes and surface treatments to ensure a durable, long-lasting bond to materials such as steel, aluminum, stainless steel, bronze, brass, and engineering plastics. Can ML6® parts be recycled or reprocessed?

ML6® polyurethane is a thermoset polyurethane, meaning it cannot be re-melted or reshaped. It is not recyclable, but its durability often reduces replacement frequency and total environmental impact.

Can ML6® polyurethane be machined or ground after molding?

Yes, ML6® polyurethane is machinable and can be post-processed to add custom features such as grooves, chamfers, undercuts, and profiles. While our molding process typically achieves tight tolerances and finished dimensions, eliminating the need for secondary machining. We offer some precision grinding and machining when specific geometries or surface modifications are required.
